Latest ISAF News

Today at the ISAF Annual Conference, ISAF President Göran Petersson announced Perth, Australia as the host venue for the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships.

What is the ISAF Worlds?
This is the biggest event in sailing. It is the combination of all Olympic class world champhinships 1 year before the Olympic games in London. This is at a time when Olympic classes, are at their strongest in the cycle and is the first qualification event for countries for 2012. Thousands of Olympic class sailors and teams will be traing in Perth and Australia in that year

What does this mean for us?

Thousands of Olympic class sailors and teams will be traing in Perth and Australia in that year Building on this year which Australia and NZ host many Olympic class world championships our sailors are able to be exposed to the very best sailing competition in dingy classes, the world has to offer. I am sure this will contribute to an incerease in Olympic class partisapation across the region andf to the level of our developing sailors.

We all give alot of thanks to the WA government and the team supporting this bid.
